Celebrating Earth Day

Updated: Apr 24, 2023

Bringing awareness to environmental issues and recognizing the importance of keeping our home clean and healthy.

Founded in 1970, Earth Day is about the education of environmental issues. Originating in the United States as a proposal by Senator Gaylord Nelson, Earth Day began as a “national teach-in on the environment” for students on university campuses, with the hope of bringing environmental causes into the national spotlight by raising public awareness of pollution.

Since then, Earth Day celebrations have continued to grow worldwide. In 1990, Earth Day went global, with 200 million people in over 140 nations participating, according to the Earth Day Network (EDN), a nonprofit organization that coordinates Earth Day activities. In 2000, Earth Day focused on clean energy and involved hundreds of millions of people in 184 countries and 5,000 environmental groups. Today, the Earth Day Network collaborates with more than 17,000 partners and organizations in 174 countries, with more than 1 billion people participating in Earth Day activities, making it “the largest secular civic event in the world.” (https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/earth-day)

Trodat shares the belief that being environmentally responsible is important, which is why many of our top products are engineered using recycled plastics where possible, and produced using an eco-minded manufacturing process that minimizes its carbon footprint. Any unavoidable carbon byproducts are offset with investments in Gold Standard climate protection projects recommended by the World Wide Fund For Nature. The video explains how this is implemented into our Printy 4.0 line.

In 2018, Trodat was awarded the Austrian Ecolabel* for more than 80 products including the

best-selling models of the Printy 4.0 and the Professional 4.0, as well as numerous ink cartridges, stamp pads and stamp pad inks. That list has now grown to include the new Professional 4.0 52045 and 54045 round self-inking text and date stamps, as well as the new 9054 large size hand stamp ink pad and additional ink cartridges.

This combination of world class design and environmentally responsible manufacturing allows us to help make a positive impact on the environment, while offering our customers top quality products that they can feel good about using and selling.

To help get the word out to your customers, below is a digital catalog that you can download and add to your website or email to customers. You can also link products in the catalog to ones that you sell on your website for additional customer convenience.

Along with the catalog is a social media post for you to use as well. You can display this on your Facebook page, Instagram or whatever platform you prefer. Let your customers know that just by using your Trodat stamps, they are already green warriors!

If you'd like to have the catalog cover customized with your company's logo and information, just email our marketing department at either larry.smith@trodat.net or danielle.obrien@trodat.net with your request.
