Trodat to replace plastic blister packaging with 100% recycled cardboard.
With more than 100 years of history, doing business sustainably has always been an integral part of our way of thinking and acting.
Having discarded plastic blisters for eco-friendly packaging to ship replacement ink cartridges and 7011 ink bottles at the beginning of 2022, we’re now taking the next important step on the road to sustainability: stamp products are now also being switched to eco-friendly packaging instead of plastic blister packs.
The new packaging consists of 100% recycled cardboard. In addition, it’s significantly smaller, which is advantageous for transport, inventory and the necessary sales area. Naturally, it comes with the usual holes so that it can be used as a hanging box, and in future, the eco-friendly packaging will also meet the criteria of the Austrian Eco-label. This switch will result in a savings of about 8 tons of plastic film, which corresponds to a CO2 reduction of approx. 17 tons.
The new recycled cardboard packaging will roll out this year as inventory of the older plastic blister packaged stamps are sold through.
