Celebrating Memorial Day

We remember all of the heroes who gave their lives while serving our country.

Observed on the last Monday in May, Memorial Day is an American holiday established to honor those who have died while serving in the United States military. Originating in the years after the Civil War, and originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in 1971, and is celebrated with parades, paying respects at cemeteries and memorials, and enjoying the company of friends and relatives.

Memorial Day also serves as the unofficial start of the summer season, which means that while we remember the warm memories of those we honor, we also look forward to sunny days and warmer weather.
